Vidovic propels Croatia to victory
The half-time introduction of Damir Vidovic proved a master-stroke for Croatia as the substitute scored two and made another to give his side victory in a game Israel led twice.

Thrilling turnaround
This result ends Israel's campaign, while Croatia move level with UEFA European Under-17 Championship Group B leaders Switzerland on points. Croatia trailed when Vidovic arrived but he swiftly equalised. And after Israel restored their lead he created the second leveller with a cross turned in by Ahser Tobi, before Vidovic and Grgur Radoš clinched victory.

Duo return
As promised by coach Ivan Gudelj, defender Tomislav Kristic and midfielder Davor Spehar returned from suspension for Croatia, held 2-2 by a late Netherlands comeback on Tuesday. Israel coach Avraham Bahar made five changes from the team that lost 3-0 to the Swiss, including Robi Levkovich playing in goal.

Determined Israel
Israel, aware that defeat would end their campaign, started the game in determined fashion and for much of the first half took the game to Croatia. Striker Nikola Kalinic even had to come back to make a vital saving tackle on Bar Buzaglo, who also had a 30th-minute shot tipped away by goalkeeper Ivan Kelava.

Kayal strikes
However, on half-time Oded Eklayam's fine run and cross found Bar Buzaglo. His effort looped on to the bar, and Kayal's follow-up was over the line before Kelava could claw the ball back.

Dramatic twists
Gudelj introduced Damir Vidovic for Matija Spicic, and the substitution bore fruit immediately as Milan Badelj's cross was turned in by the striker. Just five minutes after the equaliser, though, Israel were back ahead. Avraham Rikan sent Bar Buzaglo clear, and the forward finished with aplomb.

Own goal
Again Croatia had to come from behind, and a strong Stipe Bacelic-Grgic shot forced Levkovich to dive and save. And Vidovic's cross was turned into his own net by the luckless Tobi on 67 minutes.

Vidovic again
Barely had the celebrations ended, when Mislav Radoš played Vidovic through, and the calm substitute slipped the ball past Levkovich. Another replacement, Mislav's twin Grgur, made sure on victory in the 75th minute. On Sunday Croatia must still defeat Switzerland, ahead on goal difference, to be absolutely sure of progress, while Israel play for pride against the Netherlands.

Izbornik Kranjcar objavio kandidate za utakmicu protiv Bugarske

Na konferenciji za novinare u Hrvatskom nogometnom savezu izbornik Zlatko Kranjcar objavio je popis kandidata za kvalifikacijsku utakmicu za odlazak na SP protiv Bugarske. Na popisu su:

Butina, Didulica, Pletikosa, R. Kovac Šimunic, Tudor, Tomas, Šimic, Tokic, Srna, N. Kovac, Babic, Kranjcar, J. Leko, Šeric, I. Leko, Vranješ, Bošnjak, Pršo, Klasnic, Olic i Balaban.

Pretpozive su dobili Bazina i Budan.
Okupljanje je u nedjelju 29.05 2005. u 20.00 sati u hotelu Sheraton, nakon cega se odlazi u catež.
U Sofiju se putuje u petak, 02.06. u 19.00 sati, a utakmica je na rasporedu u subotu 04.06. u 18.00 (17.00 po hrvatskom vremenu).

Reprezentacija doputovala u Catež, odraden i prvi trening

Vecina hrvatskih reprezentativaca doputovala je u Catež, gdje ce trenirati do cetvrtka, kada se putuje u Sofiju na kvalifikacijski susret s Bugarskom.
Stiglo je 19 igraca, a još se ocekuju R. Kovac, Klasnic; i Didulica.
U ponedjeljak je odraden i prvi trening u Brežicama, a izbornik Kranjcar ne skriva optimizam:
-Respektiramo Bugarsku, ali u Sofiju putujemo kao prvi u skupini i s kvalitetnijom momcadi od one koju ima moj kolega Stoickov. Još ne znam sastav, obznanit cu ga u petak, ali ne ocukujte velike promjene, naglasio je Kranjcar.
Inace, u utorak je na rasporedu samo jedan trening i to u 18.30, na stadionu u Brežicama.

Sjajna atmosfera u kampu reprezentacije

Kako se približava utakmica protiv Bugarske, sve više raste dobro raspoloženje i uvjerenje kako u Sofiji možemo napraviti dobar rezultat koji bi hrvatsku reprezentaciju još više približio Svjetskom prvenstvu u Njemackoj.
Što se igrackog kadra tice, izbornik Kranjcar od utorka navecer može racunati i na Didulicu, a danas se treba prikljuciti i Robert Kovac
Inace, reprezentativci ce srijedu prijepodne iskoristiti za radni sastanak i analizu Bugarske, u cemu ce pomoci i Marijan Vlak, koji je "snimao" u živo našeg suparnika, a poslijepodne je u 18.30 trening na stadionu u Brežicama.

Jawohl, da gehts dann mal echt um viel - hoffe die Jungs holen 3 fette Punkte bei den Bulgaris.

Hmmmm, ohne Schüssel und ohne Premiere wird man wohl wieder leer ausgehen................
